They soon came for him and took him to the general. The general was even taller, even more imposing, and his uniform decorated with four gold stars on his shoulders. In his left hand he held a small stick, with which he occasionally swished
his right palm.
"Now, Simple Toney, tell me immediately where you're from and what you're doing here, or I'll have you brought before a military court," the bulky general thundered.
Toney wasn't a fan of the military court idea, not even in the other camp, so he decided to tell them about his agreement with the silver-star general. He even told him what kind of information the other side was interested in.
The general paced back and forth for a bit, then smiled cunningly.
"All right, Toney, my boy, I'll gladly share this information with you."
"Hurray, that was easier than I thought," Toney rejoiced to himself quietly.
"But on one condition! We're going to make you a double agent," the general said.
Toney had no idea what a double agent was, of course, but he wisely kept quiet about it. Otherwise they would find out that he was a rookie in the spy business. And he certainly didn't want to tell them that.
