Gear wheelToney walked back, but halfway he realised that he had forgotten to ask the silver-star general about their numbers and their weapons, the things he was supposed to inquire about. Oh dear, now the gold-star general will be angry with him. But fortunately, an idea occurred to him: he would simply repeat the same numbers the general had told him earlier. Surely, that wouldn't cause any trouble, he thought.
He returned to the gold-star general's camp and the soldiers immediately took Toney to him.
"Well, Toney, my boy, what have you find out?" the general asked.
And Toney began to list the data he had received from the general on his last visit. Well, he might have multiplied some of the numbers by two, by five, depending on the situation. Just to make sure they weren't exactly the same.
"For dinner, they had a double hamburger with french fries. Oh, and a chocolate shake, which is a kind of dessert," Toney finished. The latter was exceptionally true, because the soldiers who had thrown him out of the trenches told each other.
